Evening rituals for better sleep

"Sleep doesn't begin the moment we lie down, it actually begins with the quiet choices we make beforehand."

Emma Watson, Founder / Naturopath

Modern life stimulates the nervous system with chronic stress and often heavy mental load. Over time this can disrupt our natural circadian rhythm, making it difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep. Our Sleep tea blend has been thoughtfully formulated to gently support the nervous system.

Why does sleep feel harder, now, and why did we create Sleep Tea?

Modern life places a constant demand on the body. Between ongoing stress, mental load, and daily stimulation, it can become difficult for the nervous system to recognise when it’s time to rest.

Over time, this can disrupt our natural rhythm, making it harder to fall asleep, stay asleep, or wake feeling restored. Combined with constant distraction and screen time, the body is often left in a heightened, alert state, even at the end of the day.

We created Sleep Tea in response to this. A gentle evening blend, thoughtfully formulated with herbs that have traditionally been used to calm the body and support the transition into rest.

More than just a tea, it’s a moment to pause. A simple, supportive ritual that helps prepare the body for deeper, more restorative sleep.

What actually helps support better sleep quality?

Supporting sleep isn’t just about the moment we get into bed, it begins in how we care for the body throughout the day.

Small, consistent shifts, can make a meaningful difference. Reducing stimulation, such as limiting caffeine earlier in the day (ideally avoiding it completely after 12pm), allows the body to maintain to a more natural rhythm, with less stimulation before bed.

Another simple yet powerful practice is becoming more mindful of your breathing. Whether you’re cleaning up after dinner, or moving through your evening, slow, deep breaths help signal calm, allowing the body to gradually soften.

What might an evening ritual for better sleep quality look like?

A simple evening ritual can help guide the body into rest. This might look like dimming the lights, lighting candles, taking a warm shower, and moving through your routine more slowly and intentionally. Keeping something gentle by your bedside, like a book or journal, can help ease the mind without excessive stimulation. A warm cup of Sleep Tea can become a quiet cue that the day is coming to a close. A warm bath or shower, perhaps a meditation, or mindfulness practice may also align.

When we intentionally prepare for rest, we allow the body to shift out of a state of alertness and into one of calm.

Which teas can support rest?

Sleep Tea
A deeply calming blend, of valerian, passionflower, lavender and chamomile, traditionally used to support the nervous system, ease tension, quiet the mind and prepare the body for sleep.

Calming Tea
A gentle blend to support the body throughout the day or evening, with herbs including lavender, chamomile, lemon balm and peppermint.

Adaptogen Tea
Formulated to help the body adapt to stress, this blend includes withania, Siberian ginseng, schizandra and astragalus, traditionally used to support balance and resilience.

How should Sleep Tea be enjoyed?

Sleep Tea is a gentle, comforting blend of earthy botanicals, with a smooth, slightly sweet finish and a subtle hint of mint. Naturally caffeine free. We recommend enjoying one cup around 30 minutes before bed, as part of your evening wind down. You may also like to keep a cup beside your bed to sip if you wake during the night.

Is Sleep Tea suitable for everyone?

Sleep Tea contains licorice, which is not recommended for those with hypertension or during pregnancy.

For children, we recommend consulting with your healthcare practitioner, as individual needs can vary.

Sleep quality is more in our control than we may think, by simply implementing some changes, we can enhance the quality of our sleep.

Through small, consistent rituals, we create the space for the body to soften, unwind, and relax into depper more restorative rest.
